Profile
I’ve always been interested in art and have experimented with different forms over the years.
In the 1960s I studied at the Rhodesian School of Art in what is now Zimbabwe. I also pursued an
interest in ceramics and became a full-time potter while living in Cape Town, South Africa, in the 70s. I
taught ceramics in a studio attached to my house. My work was featured in a number of juried exhibits by
the Cape Town Potters Association.
When I came to the US with my family in the 80s, I decided that I really wanted to paint with watercolors. I
love the luminosity of the medium.
I love the outdoors and painting objects within nature – especially trees. Often I may combine bits from
different subjects to achieve my goal.
I live in beautiful Marin County, California, with its rolling hills – wheaten color in summer and green in
winter. I love the contrast of the green trees against the dry hills in summer. It’s a beautiful place to live
and paint.
I've started a blog about all things watercolor. My aim is to provide interesting articles and comments
and also to promote other watercolorists.
